Who is the Realistic Mom and what is she doing blogging?
I’m what I consider a mom in the real world. I never intended to be a WOHM (work outside the home mom), but crazy economic times (read: stuff went downhill with my hubby’s job) forced me to get a job to help support our family (more on them later). Sure, I wish I could go back to being a SAHM (stay at home mom) full time, but until things even out, Hi Ho Hi Ho it’s off to work I go. Do I like my job? Sure. But it’s not my “real” job. My real “job” is at home, caring for my family and children. And even though I work double shifts (mom by day, worker by night), my Day job is my #1 priority and that will. never. change.
And why I’m blogging? Oh I don’t know. Wanting to validate my beliefs, thoughts, feelings and ideas as I navigate parenting in this life with other parents that are in the same boat. I’ve never claimed to be a perfect or supermom. But I’m trying the best I can given our circumstances. I make mistakes, just like anyone else. And I know you do to. NEWSFLASH! It’s okay. It is really. I want this blog to help us “normal” parents see that there are wide varieties of “normal” and what works for you and your family is just fine. I plan to talk more about how we got to where we are and where we are going later on.
